Board accepts staff recommendation that Regent Johnston recuse from matters involving Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas

"Regent Johnston has reported that she serves on the board of directors for the Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas," staff said when introducing the addendum.
Staff recommended directing Regent Johnston not to participate on behalf of the board in matters involving or related to contractor transactions between the health center and Pittsburg State University and to take appropriate measures to manage or remedy any potential conflicts. The board moved and approved the recommendation by voice vote.
Policy staff said they will follow up individually with the regent in advance of the board retreat to review the recommended steps and the disclosures. The board also noted forthcoming discussions about leadership compensation and timelines.
