Hannah Cecil, who introduced herself as a marketing coordinator for the hospice/palliative organization, accepted the proclamation and thanked the commission: "I'm Hannah Cecil, marketing coordinator...we are very excited...we have served this community for over 45 years, and we hope to do it for another 45." Cecil noted Palliative Week and Hospice Week dates included in the proclamation.
City management used the meeting to announce that reservations are open for 2025 park shelter season (Legion, Moreland and Ben Hawes parks) and provided a phone number and website for reservations. The city also announced receipt of the Government Finance Officers Association Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the 2024-25 fiscal year (the city's 25th consecutive recognition), designation as a GFOA Triple Crown recipient and that Angela Wanninger received the Kentucky GFOA 2024 Finance Officer of the Year award. City management named staff members who contributed to the awards and encouraged the public to make park reservations early for holiday weekends.
