The Owensboro Board of Commissioners on Sept. 3 approved Ordinance 14-2024, a zoning text amendment package that updates Appendix F of the Owensboro Metropolitan Zoning Ordinance to add provisions related to medicinal cannabis.
City manager summarized that the package contains various regulations related to medicinal marijuana and that the planning commission had presented details at the prior meeting. He noted OMPC staff were available for questions and specifically named Brian Howard as a staff resource. "At the last meeting, Melissa Evans from the planning commission presented details of the ordinance," city manager said, and the commission proceeded with second reading and approval.
The ordinance applies to the cities of Owensboro and Whitesfield and Davis County and was read and approved on second reading at the Sept. 3 meeting. No specific text changes beyond the articles referenced were read into the record at length; staff indicated the planning commission's prior presentation contains the ordinance details and OMPC staff can answer implementation questions.
