Mayor Tom Watson read the second reading of the ordinance and asked City Manager Nate to summarize. Nate said the total project budget is approximately $6.5 million, with about $4.5 million coming from the city and $2 million from the county. He said roughly $1 million is allocated for property acquisition, about $500,000 for design, leaving approximately $5 million available for construction.
The ordinance was approved on a roll-call vote with all voting members recorded as ‘yes.’ Commissioner Bob Glenn asked what the acreage would permit; Nate said the item now advances to the design phase, led by staff and representatives from the senior center.
