County clerk outlines absentee and early voting schedule ahead of November election

At the Sept. 17 meeting the county clerk provided detailed voter information and key dates for the upcoming election.
The clerk said the portal to request an absentee ballot by mail (govote.ky.gov) opens Sept. 21 and the deadline to request a mailed absentee ballot is Oct. 22. The clerk also detailed early in-person voting: a no-excuse early-in-person voting block will run Oct. 31–Nov. 2 at the extension office (8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.), and additional early voting and absentee-in-person dates are available Oct. 23–30 for those meeting excuse criteria. Election day is Nov. 5 from 6:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. at several voting centers the clerk listed in the meeting record.
The clerk reminded residents about the Oct. 7 voter registration or address-change deadline and described the county’s locked drop box and staffed hours for returning ballots in person. The clerk reported that August remittances to the county totaled approximately $111,000 and delinquent-tax collections for August exceeded $100,000, indicating active tax-collection work ahead of an upcoming delinquent tax sale.
