Separately, Shannon asked the court to create a new line item by moving $250,000 from reserves to fund architectural design services for the public‑safety building; the court approved the transfer and agreed the funds would remain in interest‑bearing accounts until needed (motion by Mr. Boettner; second by Mr. Gay).
In executive‑session follow‑up, the court approved a motion to authorize the county to support a purchase of the Redding industrial property by transferring funds to the Economic Development Authority to enable a closing. Magistrate Crowley described a required transfer of roughly $1,615,000 to the EDA and requested the county provide half of the purchase price and a proportionate share of anticipated acquisition costs; the court voted in favor of the purchase authorization.
Next steps: staff will proceed with procurement for stabilization work, prepare budget transfers and coordinate with the EDA and city staff to complete the Redding property transaction and associated right‑of‑way and roadway work.
