Barren County Fiscal Court approves routine reports, contracts and purchases

The Barren County Fiscal Court met Sept. 17 in Glasgow and approved a string of routine fiscal items, contracts and purchases brought before the court.
Among the actions the court approved by voice vote were the August 2024 county financial report (subject to audit) and fee reports from the county clerk and sheriff. The court authorized payment of $101,608 to the Barren County property valuer’s office as part of the FY24–25 budget appropriation and approved the annual lease and maintenance agreement with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to support sheriff-related summer operations and reimbursement arrangements.
The court also approved several vendor invoices and purchase orders: a $7,355.05 invoice to Pedego Lesson Bay related to the sheriff’s bond; a $7,722 invoice to Bravo Company Machines (to be reimbursed from a grant); and a purchase order for plumbing fixtures and materials for the Barren County Development Center (Kinsalo Plumbing, $5,807.97). Separate motions approved electrical work (Spencer Clemons Electric, $12,875) and HVAC services for emergency services facilities (Barry Locke Heating & Cooling, $16,500). The court approved payment of claims, transfers of funds and personnel actions as presented.
