The presentation included cost breakdowns, constraints such as parking and utilities, and phasing scenarios.
Commissioners debated priorities: some urged a focused, lower‑cost approach to deliver playable courts quickly (suggestions ranged to an $250,000 county contribution to get courts built), while others supported the Millennium Park option for long‑term tournament potential and multi‑sport amenities. Questions centered on restrooms, lighting, parking, tournament capacity and whether to prioritize multiple small sites or a single hub. Several commissioners stressed listening to the pickleball community for technical court‑layout requirements.
No vote was taken; staff were asked to return with refined, phased cost estimates and to coordinate with Danville city officials on joint property options. Barton said he would present further figures at a subsequent meeting.
