Crook County commissioners adopt supplemental budget to reallocate funds, add fleet coordinator capacity

Jamie Burger, Crook County budget manager, told commissioners at their Sept. 18 meeting that Order 2024-42 would move previously budgeted resources into the current fiscal year so two capital projects and a Title 3 fund could be completed.
"This is a resolution to adopt a supplemental budget for the current fiscal year," Burger said, and noted the changes also add capacity for a fleet coordinator and record a sheriff’s office grant for behavioral-health deflection that arrived after the county’s FY25 planning process. Burger said some projects had less progress than expected in the prior fiscal year and the supplemental budget shifts resources to finish them in the current year.
The board opened and closed a public hearing on the supplemental budget and then voted to adopt Order 2024-42. No public comments on the order were recorded during the hearing.
The supplemental budget will allow the county to complete the identified capital work this fiscal year and formalize the newly received sheriff’s office grant in its accounts. The county did not specify dollar amounts for the budget adjustments during the presentation; those figures appear in the meeting packet referenced by Burger.
The county’s next procedural step will be to implement the approved adjustments through standard accounting and procurement processes.
