At the Aug. 14 work session, county personnel changes were presented and approved. Carrie (presenter) requested a two-step merit increase for the victim-advocate supervisor—citing nearly 24–25 years of service and responsibility for grant management and victim services—and asked for a promotion from legal assistant 1 to legal assistant 2 for an employee identified as Jane, effective at her one-year anniversary.
County staff confirmed policy requires two-step increases to be approved by the board. Carrie said she had worked with finance and human resources and that budget impacts had been considered. Commissioners expressed appreciation for the employee’s work and the need for retention measures. The board moved and seconded a motion to approve the personnel actions and authorized the system manager (Will) to sign the prepared personnel-action forms; the motion passed by voice vote.
The changes reflect a retention- and merit-based adjustment for two county employees and will be reflected in the personnel files and payroll once paperwork is executed.
