Davenport’s finance department was recognized at the Dec. 11 council meeting for receiving three Government Finance Officers Association awards, including a certificate of achievement for excellence in financial reporting and awards for distinguished budget presentation and a popular annual financial report.
Vasha Gerlach, the city controller and interim chief budget officer, thanked colleagues including the interim finance director and staff who prepared the city’s fiscal reports and said the awards reflect hundreds of hours of work to produce clear and accessible financial documents for the public.
Mayor or presiding officer invited finance staff to accept the awards at the podium and recognized recreation supervisor Amanda Anderson for a Visit Quad Cities tourism ambassador award.
Councilors and staff congratulated the finance team on the recognition.
