Clay County approves COPCN for Century Ambulance following ownership change

After a public hearing, Clay County staff recommended and the board approved RG Ambulance Inc. d/b/a Century Ambulance’s Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity following a change in ownership; the vote was unanimous (5–0).
The Clay County Board of County Commissioners approved a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (COPCN) for RG Ambulance Incorporated, doing business as Century Ambulance, after a public safety recommendation on Sept. 12.
Jason Bory of Public Safety said Century Ambulance — a long‑time partner in the region — recently returned to Florida ownership after acquisition, and county ordinance requires a COPCN review on ownership changes. Public Safety reviewed the application and recommended approval. The board opened the public hearing; no public speakers came forward. A motion to approve the COPCN was made, seconded and approved unanimously (voice vote; motion carries 5–0). Staff noted the applicant was present and available for questions.
The COPCN authorizes ambulance operations under county rules and is required when ownership or corporate control changes; staff will proceed with administrative follow-up required by ordinance.
