• Ordinance: The board adopted an amendment to Clay County Code section 5‑23 to add two slow‑speed minimum wake zones on Black Creek (near County Road 209/Henley Road and the State Road 23 bridge). Staff emphasized that a state permit is required to install signs and for enforcement; the motion carried 5‑0.
• Letters and administrative actions: The board approved a letter of support for Mercy Services (for fundraising on a specified project) and authorized a staff‑prepared letter to the Double Branch Community Development District requesting transfer negotiations for a parcel to enlarge a potential Oakleaf library/government center site (motions carried 4‑0). The board also agreed by consensus to negotiate a lease/MOU to allow the Veterans Council to use available senior‑center office space (see separate article).
• Road‑name continuance: Staff requested a two‑week continuance to investigate an existing Victory Lane sign and impacted occupants for the Regional Sports Complex entry‑road naming; the motion to continue passed.
