Megan Mosley, grants division manager, presented an FY22 annual report summarizing the grants team's first full fiscal year.
Mosley reported 44 grant applications with an average success rate of 57 percent and 25 new awards totaling approximately $13 million, highlighted a $1.4 million federal award for community paramedicine and a $4 million SAFER grant to hire 15 firefighters. She said the office now manages about 59 active grant agreements totaling nearly $84 million, including ARPA allocations and emergency rental assistance reimbursements, and that the county received about $11 million in reimbursements during the year.
Mosley recommended hiring a sponsorship coordinator and a HUD CDBG program manager and establishing a negotiated indirect cost rate to capture overhead on grant awards. Commissioners praised the division and asked technical questions about developing an indirect cost rate, noting it is federally negotiated in some cases.
The board commended staff; no separate board action was required beyond the presentation.
