County says contractor FCC is on track for Oct. 1 service launch; staff will monitor progress

County inspectors said FCC closed on a local facility, has been staging vehicles and completed walk‑throughs of required operations. County staff reported that field testing covered seven of 25 audit requirements with no issues so far, and that the contractor has conducted staff training and is installing on‑truck equipment.
Assistant County Manager Charlie Latham told the board he observed about 15 new trucks staged at the contracted facility and that FCC planned to mail service‑day flyers to residents starting Sept. 16. FCC representatives will brief the board again before the Oct. 1 launch; county staff said they are holding daily coordination meetings and remain focused on ensuring a smooth start.
