Cape Girardeau council approves consent agenda and several ordinances, adopts citizen participation plan
Summary

The City Council voted on several routine and substantive items Tuesday evening.
After a roll call, council adopted the meeting agenda by voice vote and approved the consent agenda, which included multiple bills and a supplemental agreement for the new airport terminal project. The consent agenda passed by a voice vote.
Removed from consent for separate consideration was Bill 2508, the citizen participation plan for establishing a CDBG program. Council discussed the plan, accepted staff's presentation that HUD comments had been incorporated and voted to adopt Bill 2508; an abstention was recorded during the tally process.
Council also approved on first reading an ordinance authorizing the city manager to accept an airport aid grant to fund long-term airport parking (Bill 2509), and accepted permanent water-line easements from Mid America Hotels (Bill 2510) and Community Counseling Center (Bill 2511). All three measures passed on voice votes.
The meeting concluded with no appointments and an adjournment vote.
