Votes at a glance: council approves consent agenda items, contracts, appointments

During its meeting, the Sioux City Council approved multiple consent-agenda items and contract awards by unanimous vote.

Items the council approved included: a resolution authorizing payment to Holstein Excavating for the Thirtieth Street and Pierce Street storm-sewer improvement project; appointment and reappointment actions (a correction to the term-expiration date for Carina pin Pedroza and the appointment/reappointment of Sam Wagner to the Planning and Zoning Commission/Board of Adjustment); grant agreements with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for continuum-of-care coordinated-entry and homeless-management information-system funds; a service-provider agreement with Hydro Clean for a water-treatment caustic cleaning project; a contract with Bainbridge Construction for the Floyd River and Plywood Trail connector project; a contract with Barcon for the South of Mulberry Street improvement project; a pipeline license agreement for the Nebraska Street water-main replacement project; purchase orders for a police department drone and an IBM server from HaverNear Consulting; and beer/liquor license applications.

Council members also opened and closed public hearings and approved plans/specifications and construction documents for several street and bridge projects (Twentieth Ninth Street reconstruction; West Street Bridge replacement) with no public opposition reported at the hearings. Many of the consent and hearing items were recorded as passing by unanimous vote.
