Carbon County commissioners approve payroll, expenditures, appointments and a slate of grants and agreements

Commissioners ratified general-fund clearing account expenditures including a $984,286 batch of checks and an additional tranche of checks numbered 247756–247881 totaling $1,659,953.93. Motions to approve these expenditures were made and carried by roll call.
During the meeting the salary board approved personnel changes and new position establishments: the certified court reporter hourly rate was changed from $31.76 to $30.23 (effective Dec. 5, 2024); the Magisterial District Justice secretary 2 rate moved from $15.58 to $15.97 (effective Dec. 9, 2024); and the Communications Center established a 9‑1‑1 assistant manager trainee position at $26.36 per hour (effective Dec. 5, 2024). Those actions were presented and approved as salary-board items.
The board confirmed multiple board and authority appointments. Robert Knapp was reappointed to the Airport Authority (item 24547). The board approved three appointments to the bridal shelter advisory commission (item 24548) and reappointed Joshua Barrons to the conservation district (item 24549). The commissioners amended the agenda to appoint Wayne Notestein as the commissioner representative for next year; that amendment and the appointment were approved.
