“...we did sign off on a valuable letter of support for the Nippon Steel US Steel, multiple commissioners in in in the region,” one commissioner said, adding that the Allegheny Conference issued a “very strong statement of support.” The commissioner said the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) review includes several reviewers and that a single objection — cited by the trade representative in this case — would elevate the decision to the president.
