At the Unionville-Chadds Ford School District's Dec. 2 organizational meeting the board elected Dr. Victoria Baratta president and Erin Talbert vice president and designated The Daily Local News of Exton as the district's newspaper for legal advertising.

Board members first selected a temporary chair to run the organizational portion of the meeting; after nominations Dr. Simonson was appointed temporary president and handed the chair to the elected officers. Miss Anderson nominated Dr. Victoria Baratta for president; following the roll-call/voice procedure required by board policy no. 5, the board voted unanimously, 9-0, to elect Baratta. "The vote is unanimous," the presiding officer said after the count, and "Dr. Baratta has been elected president." When nominations opened for vice president, Erin Talbert was nominated and received a unanimous vote, 9-0.

The board also moved to designate The Daily Local News, with offices at 390 Eagle View Boulevard in Exton, as the newspaper of general circulation in which the district will place legal advertisements. The motion to appoint the newspaper passed by voice vote with no recorded opposition.
