Full board to consider June 4 graduation date, English textbook changes and ESY schedule next Monday

The CIT committee reviewed three administrative items the district will bring to the full board for approval next Monday: a proposed graduation date for Unionville High School’s Class of 2025, recommended new English texts for 9th and 12th grades, and the Extended School Year (ESY) schedule for summer 2025.
Mister Audubard proposed Wednesday, June 4, 2025, as the graduation date and said the district intends to hold commencement at the Bob Carpenter Center at the University of Delaware; he noted the last student day is scheduled for June 11, 2025 and said staff believes required hours will be met despite the gap between graduation and the last day. "We are proposing graduation date of Wednesday, June 4th, of 2025, planning to hold ceremonies at the Bob Carpenter Center at the University of Delaware," he said.
On curriculum, Audubard said the Unionville High School English department’s recommended texts for 9th and 12th grades have been posted for community review after a prior June presentation and will be up for approval next Monday.
For ESY, Audubard proposed running services June 23–July 31, Monday–Thursday, 8 a.m.–12 p.m., for a total of 23 days and 92 hours. He named Pekkausen Elementary as the proposed location but later noted the program would be housed at Copson Elementary School; staff will clarify the site before the board vote.
All three items were informational at the CIT meeting and will move to the regular board agenda for formal action.
