Board approves personnel hires, data‑sharing agreement, program contracts and staffing agreements

The Kennett Consolidated School District board approved a package of routine personnel and administrative actions during the meeting.

Personnel: the personnel report (presented by Miss Marcela) listed 3 resignations, 6 leave requests and 28 recommended hires. The board moved and seconded the motion to approve personnel changes, noting that all hires are contingent on securing required certification; the motion carried by voice vote.

Agreements and program items approved included a data‑sharing agreement with Curriculum Associates to allow matching of I‑Ready data with statewide PSSA and Keystone assessments for program evaluation; an ATSI (At‑Risk Targeted School Improvement) plan for Kennett High School (a plan the Pennsylvania Department of Education has approved and that the board was asked to review); and multiple contracts and renewals: a memorandum of understanding with Eastern University (a follow‑on to a prior partnership with Cabrini University), renewal of Fick Educational Services for interim special‑education placements, and a new agreement with the Judge Group to fill critical special‑education vacancies (the district is reporting roughly 26 vacancies to fill). The board also approved a second‑year contract with Project Liberta to support newcomer students and families at Kennett High School, including a parent/student survey to inform continuation.

Confidential student agreements: the board approved three confidential agreements with parents; the administration said the contents are confidential and could not be discussed in open session.

All motions on these items were moved and seconded and carried by voice votes at the meeting.
