The Woburn City Council voted Feb. 20 to extend a previously issued special permit for NAI Entertainment Holdings LLC to allow additional time for replacement of a pylon sign at 25 Middlesex Canal Park.
Attorney Joseph R. Tarby, appearing for the owner of the Showcase Cinema, told the council that economic conditions in the cinema industry had delayed the project and requested a two-year extension of the permit to Nov. 16, 2026. The ward councilor for the area said they had no objections. The council moved and approved the extension.
The action was recorded on the docket as an extension of the time for the petitioner to exercise rights under the special permit; the council approved the motion by voice vote.
