Woburn council recognizes Eagle Scout Gavin Brady, confirms several appointments

At its April 2 meeting the Woburn City Council honored Gavin Brady for earning Eagle Scout, and approved several appointments to boards and commissions including the Board of Registrars and the Commission on Disability.
The Woburn City Council recognized Gavin Brady of Troop 502 with a formal resolve after reading his community-service project at Shaker Glen conservation area. Brady, a senior at Austin Prep in Reading, told the council he focused on creating a visible entrance, signage and trail maintenance; he said, "Eagle Scout was probably the biggest stepping stone in my life."
Following the recognition and photographs, the council adopted committee recommendations to confirm several appointments and reappointments: Tracy AR to the Woburn Board of Registrars of Voters; Saka Seth Cheney as chair of the Board of Registrars of Voters; Katherine Hahn to the Commission on Disability; and the reappointment of Paul A. Scanlon Jr. to the Commission on Disability. Each committee report was called, seconded and adopted by the council.
The council also approved a special event permit for a Woburn Host Alliance charity dog walk scheduled for May 11, 2024, with a waiver request for umbrella liability insurance; the committee recommended approval and the council adopted the recommendation. The public hearing for Hanford and Dumas Corporation’s special permit application was continued to the May 7, 2024 council meeting at the corporation’s request.
