The Tredyffrin‑Easttown School Board unanimously approved a resolution on June 10 to adopt the homestead/farmstead exclusion for the 2024–25 fiscal year. The resolution was explained by business manager Mr. McDonald, who said the exclusion is funded at the state level and described its application to eligible properties.
Mr. McDonald told the board the state-funded allocation has increased and “it is up to a $303 which is a direct reduction of the tax dollars” for eligible homestead property owners. He explained the mechanism: the state’s allocation subtracts a fixed assessed-value amount for each eligible property so all eligible homeowners receive the same dollar reduction. No public comment was offered on the item.
The resolution was moved and seconded and passed on a roll-call vote, 9–0. Mr. McDonald noted the board must submit the resolution to the state so the reduction is recorded and applied uniformly to eligible taxpayers' bills.
