The Tredyffrin-Easttown facilities committee reported March 12 recommendations to proceed with several projects, and the board heard those updates during the March 18 meeting.
Committee members said ongoing projects include HVAC renovations, interior and exterior upgrades, and no change to school start times. Traffic-planning consultants are finalizing school-zone and crossing designs for Conestoga High School; PennDOT approval is expected in mid-April. The committee placed a consultant fee for needed updates on the consent agenda.
The athletic fields project received conditional approval from the township planning commission; conditions include administrative stormwater and traffic items and a landscaping plan accepted in lieu of an originally required fence. Committee members said the landscaping approach reduced projected costs. The administration will advertise bids and obtain multiple quotes (including cooperative purchasing options) for field construction and field-house buildings. Anticipated completion for the athletic fields is summer 2025, with buildings likely later that year, subject to approvals and bidding outcomes.
The facilities committee recommended starting the bidding process immediately and returning bids and quotes for committee consideration in May.
