East Penn Announces 'Strive for 5' Attendance Campaign, Hosts Governor for K–12 Funding Announcement

"Students must be here and actively participating to realize those tremendous benefits," Dr. Campbell said while introducing the 'Strive for 5' community awareness campaign encouraging fewer than five absences when possible. She said the campaign will include information for families about the benefits of regular attendance.
Dr. Campbell also reminded families of a supplemental food program providing nonperishable groceries every Wednesday at Lower Macungie Middle School and Emmaus High School in partnership with the Emmaus Rotary and local service groups. When asked whether the program has evening hours, Dr. Campbell said no, but offered that the district could make special arrangements for families who cannot make daytime hours.
Dr. Campbell announced the East Penn Education Foundation's fourth annual golf outing Sept. 30 at Brookside Country Club and said Emmaus High School recently hosted Gov. Josh Shapiro and Secretary of Education Mumin for a press conference about historic K–12 investments; the district provided about 30 student representatives for the event.
The district noted the budget process and comprehensive planning discussions will begin in the coming weeks and said abbreviated meeting highlights will be posted online a day or two after board meetings.
