Woburn council allows two food trucks to park at Tandoor and Curry with six conditions

The Woburn City Council voted to approve a modification to a previously issued special permit so that Gurbani Jasmine LLC, operator of Tandoor and Curry at 902 Main Street, may park two food trucks on the premises under six conditions.

Attorney Joseph Taube, representing the petitioner, told the council the business had taken over the restaurant location and seeks to park two company food trucks on the site as shown on the petition’s site plan. Councilors raised conditions to manage safety, traffic and public-health concerns.

Councilor D'Amambro read proposed conditions that the council adopted: any temporary electrical connections must comply with the electrical code; trucks must not operate from Washington Terrace or Minot Street (the council suggested using Salem Street as the preferred exit); the trucks must be kept clean inside and out; the operator must maintain rodent control; no truck tires, batteries or spare parts may be stored on the exterior of the building; and both vehicles must be registered with the city.

Councilor Viola also asked that the trucks not block the on-site dumpsters during operations and outlined how dumpsters should be moved for pickup. Attorney Taube agreed the conditions were reasonable and the council approved the special-permit modification by voice vote.

The permit keeps in force any preexisting conditions attached to earlier special permits for the site. The council did not report further enforcement specifics beyond the six conditions attached to this approval.
