WOBURN — The Personnel Committee on Sept. 9 recommended that the full City Council confirm Susan Cashel to the Woburn Housing Authority.
The mayor and committee members introduced Cashel and summarized her background in public housing administration. Cashel told the committee she has worked in housing for 29 years, starting at Woburn Housing and later serving as a state liaison and as director in Winchester for roughly 20 years; she said she could support the authority on regulations and procedures.
Committee members praised Cashel’s experience and professionalism; one councilor said, "I've called Susan to navigate different situations... Always professional, always on top of a game," citing long-term working experience. After a brief Q&A and a motion to forward a favorable recommendation to the City Council, the committee voted by voice to send the appointment forward.
The appointment recommendation will be considered by the full City Council in its next confirmation process.
