Licensing commission conditionally approves transfer of common victualler license for 130 New Boston St.

WOBURN — The Woburn Licensing Commission on Oct. 17 voted 3–0 to accept an application to transfer a common victualler license for 130 New Boston Street to Nikolaev and Sons, contingent on the granting of a special permit and the conditions set by the City Council.

Eric Salinas appeared before the commission as the applicant’s representative and provided copies of the final conditions the City Council approved. Salinas said the business will replace prior occupants at the address, which had been operated as Cafe Sorrelli and later Leonardo’s, and that the new operator would change hours of operation and serve breakfast items in the morning in addition to pizza and other menu items.

Commissioners asked that the motion be made explicitly contingent on the special permit being granted and on the City Council’s conditions. An unidentified commissioner moved to accept the application and the motion was seconded; the commission approved the motion by voice vote, recorded as 3–0.

The commission’s conditional approval means Nikolaev and Sons cannot commence full operations under the new license until the special permit is issued and the conditions are satisfied.
