Emmaus High student thanks East Penn board for choral department support

Naomi Sharpless, a senior at Emmaus High School, used the public-comment period at the March 11 board meeting to thank the East Penn School District for supporting the Emmaus choral program.
She said that recent funding and the work of choral director Ms. Wallace allowed more students to attend district and regional chorus festivals (noting the program increased from two students who qualified previously to five this year). "She has put together countless fundraisers for us to do so we are able to go on trips with a lower cost," Sharpless said, adding that the program has given her musical growth and leadership opportunities.
Sharpless asked the board to continue its support for the choral department to sustain student access to musical opportunities.
