At its Oct. 22 meeting the North Allegheny School District board approved minutes and a consent agenda and heard several routine reports.
Miss Hardy moved to approve minutes for Sept. 11 and Sept. 25, 2024; the motion was seconded and the board voted unanimously to approve the minutes. Later the board considered a consent agenda that included items discussed at a recent meeting and several additions this week: a termination of a nonprofessional employee, the purchase of a soundboard for the NASH auditorium (noted as largely grant-funded by the Waffington family), agreements with Western Psych and Walker Supply, and minor appointment changes. The consent agenda motion was moved and seconded and passed unanimously.
Student representatives from NASH and NAI reviewed homecoming and fall-activity highlights, including NASH homecoming attendance of over 1,000 students, NAI’s Midsummer Night’s Dream Homecoming Dance with 1,042 attendees and upcoming theater performances. Committee updates included a Citizens Advisory Committee meeting with Dr. Hyland and a North Allegheny Foundation announcement of a Trick-or-Trot fundraiser at the Marshall campus.
The board heard the evening’s major presentations — the enrollment and facilities report — and received public comment on transportation and special-education inclusion matters. No additional votes beyond the minutes and consent agenda were taken.
