At its Sept. 25 meeting, the North Allegheny School Board approved a consent agenda that included multiple human-resources items and training for school police officers.
Miss Hardy moved to approve the minutes for the Aug. 7 and Aug. 14 meetings; roll-call votes were recorded and the motion passed unanimously.
The board considered three HR items added this week. Bridal Dozier summarized the additions: item 18—adoption of contract and appointment of a school police officer (recorded as Mr. Kraw in the minutes); item 19—appointment of Timothy Murray as assistant principal at North Allegheny Senior High School, contingent on a favorable board vote and release from his current district; and item 20—a memorandum of understanding to adjust paraprofessional staffing to provide improved library services.
Dr. Hyland also explained that nine officers would be approved to attend ALICE instructor training after the district secured two free spots; the training begins at the district’s next voting meeting in October.
When the board voted on the consent agenda and associated items, the record shows the vote closed and every item passed unanimously. Board members later welcomed Timothy Murray and gave him an opportunity to speak; Murray thanked the board and said he is eager to get to work at NASH.
What it means: The unanimous votes enact personnel changes and training set out in the HR folder and clear the listed items for implementation by district staff. The file shows the specific HR items (18–20) and the Murray appointment will proceed upon administrative follow-through where required.
Votes at a glance: Approve minutes (Aug. 7, Aug. 14) — passed unanimously; Consent agenda including HR items 18–20 and ALICE training — passed unanimously; Appointment of Timothy Murray as assistant principal — recorded as passing unanimously.
Provenance: HR items and the Murray appointment are recorded in the meeting minutes and presented on Sept. 25 by Bridal Dozier and Mrs. Warner.
