"What you have here this evening is what we covered exactly last week," Assistant Superintendent Pat Laffey said, explaining the document is the same proposed final budget and that staff will use the required 30‑day public inspection period to refine projections.
Laffey and board members discussed five‑year projections presented in September that, under current assumptions and without additional recurring state funds, could show an operational shortfall of just over $1 million in 2026. Laffey said updated projections will be prepared with PFM and shared with the board.
Board members praised the absence of a tax increase and urged caution on long‑term spending. The motion to approve the proposed final budget passed by roll call, 9‑0.
Next steps: Administration will refine five‑year projections with consultants and report back during the public inspection period.
