TACIR adds study on rolling-stock procurement delays after mayors report long lead times

At the start of the meeting, commissioners approved adding a member'requested study on rolling stock procurement and delivery to TACIR's program of work after mayors reported long delivery lead times that strain emergency and municipal services.
Director Lippert introduced the item and noted that a commission'member requested study requires a higher threshold for approval. Mayor Ryle detailed recent delays for ambulances and other emergency vehicles—"some of the turnaround times we're looking at on replacing this rolling stock is 18 months," he said—and asked the commission to study whether collective procurement or other changes could expedite deliveries. The chair moved to add the study to the work program; the motion was seconded and carried by voice vote.
The study was added as a member'requested item; staff will scope the study and report back to TACIR at a subsequent meeting.
