Staff told the panel that Wheeler’s record was flagged following a default entry and that the case likely reflected a paperwork error stemming from earlier processing; the investigator recommended reversing that decertification and marking the account so Wheeler could proceed with certification if otherwise eligible.
The subcommittee agreed and voted to reverse the default decertification and flag the record. Staff noted Wheeler had appealed previously and that the matter dated back to earlier administrative action; commissioners directed standard notice to the hiring agency about psychological evaluations and other hiring checks where relevant.
The motion to reverse passed with consent, and staff confirmed there would be no further immediate action on Wheeler’s certification status.
