CareerTech board grants full accreditation to two technology centers and approves Beaver County annexation

Great Plains’ hybrid review (Oct. 3–5), covering its Lawton and Frederick campuses, included 37 examiners (26 from other technology centers) and 23 stakeholders; examiners likewise reported no areas of noncompliance and recommended full accreditation.
Board members and technology center leaders emphasized local business-education partnerships and the centers’ role in workforce development. Great Plains leadership said one area of focus will be consolidation of multiple learning-management systems to streamline instruction and curriculum support.
The board also approved the certified election results by which Beaver County will join the High Plains Technology Center district. Agency staff said local commissioners and community leaders were instrumental in the successful vote; the director indicated a future board presentation once Beaver County hires a local director and outlines expansion plans.
Votes on the accreditation recommendations and the annexation were taken by roll call and the motions passed. Board members praised center staff and the CareerTech system’s role in supporting regional workforce and education partnerships.
