The State Board of Career and Technology Education welcomed students who were recently elected to national leadership roles in career and technical student organizations.
The board introduced students representing organizations including FCCLA and BPA; students described multi‑stage selection processes (applications, knowledge tests, campaign speeches at national conferences) and outlined priorities such as strengthening the teacher pipeline, governance engagement and student advocacy. Several students said they plan to attend national leadership events, including a Student Leadership Summit in Washington, D.C., and fall leadership institutes in partnership with Disney.
Board members praised the students and emphasized how student leadership informs CareerTech work. The session was presented as recognition and did not require board action.
