Patty Vasquez Pacheco, the bilingual translation coordinator, outlined outreach and bilingual services and noted the Elections Division—s role in administering local, city, county, state and federal elections, including the City of Portland—s first ranked-choice voting contest this November.
Longtime on-call worker Judy Elam, retiring after 16 years, described field work assisting voters with disabilities and changes in technology that have improved voter access. Commissioners thanked elections staff and highlighted the work of volunteers and outreach programs; the board adopted the proclamation by roll call.
