On Dec. 11 the Umatilla County Board approved multiple purchases and contract awards that county staff described as routine but necessary.
Purchases approved included EOC computers at $5,050.75, paid from previously-approved grant funds, and a $7,255.99 purchase of branded outreach items for a regional public-health program funded by the Oregon Health Authority; staff emphasized no general-fund dollars would be used for the swag purchase.
IT staff presented a quote to replace a decades-old video surveillance system at the juvenile CDDP building. The vendor quote was $32,697; with a roughly $10,000 CIS insurance reimbursement the county’s net cost was stated as $22,697. The board adopted order BCC2024-065 and authorized the chair to sign the contract with Unitech/Unitek Communications.
For the Hermiston fair extension building, staff recommended awarding the framing contract to NER Construction at the low bid of $16,440 to build a classroom/kitchen teaching area. The board approved the award.
All motions were moved, seconded and carried by voice votes.
