Equity Council unanimously elects Jeanette Hart to fill committee vacancy

The Fayette County Board of Education Equity Council Committee voted unanimously on Dec. 3 to elect Jeanette Hart to fill an Equity Council Committee vacancy through December 2025.
The council received and reviewed the application for the vacancy, moved and seconded the motion to approve and conducted a roll-call vote. When asked for comments before the vote, a member said, "she kept us on task" while working with the naming subcommittee and another member praised her continuity and hard work.
Lizzie Coffey administered the roll call; members recorded 'yes' responses from Dr. Rania Belmodani, Judy Myers, Kamisha Boyd Powell, Brett Nathaniel, Kevin Thomas, Dr. Anthony Everett and Sherita Chantal. The chair announced the vote was unanimous and congratulated Hart on her service commitment through December 2025.
The election was a procedural appointment to fill the council vacancy; no other actions or conditions were attached to the appointment during the meeting.
