Fayette County school board approves minutes, consent items and November financial report

At its Dec. 19 meeting, the Fayette County Board of Education approved several routine items and the monthly financial report.

The board moved to adopt the meeting agenda at the start of the session; Board Member Marilyn Clark moved adoption and a second was recorded, and the chair announced the motion carried 5-0. Later, Board Member Jason Moore moved and Board Member Clark seconded approval of the Dec. 9, 2024 planning-session minutes; the board voted to approve the minutes. The board then approved consent items as listed; both votes were recorded as unanimous voice approvals ("Motion carries 5-0").

Executive Director of Financial Services Rodney presented the November financial report, describing multi-fund revenue and expense totals and noting fund balances, investments and encumbrances. Rodney reported district receipts for the month and said that investments have started to pick up; he also noted ESSER reporting has concluded. After presentation and brief questions, the board voted to accept the monthly treasurer's report by voice vote, recorded as 5-0.

The superintendent listed six written informational items for review (personnel changes for December, the school activity funds report, board-approved contracts, the budget transfer report, the position list and the construction progress report) and said there was no need for a closed session.

Final housekeeping: the board moved to make the meeting agenda part of the minutes and then adjourned, offering remarks honoring outgoing members Marilyn Clark and Jason Moore.
