Cobb commissioners approve multiple resurfacing, bridge and utility contracts totaling tens of millions

- Resurfacing contract 2025-1 (Local Roads Northwest) with Bartow Paving Co., not to exceed $7,339,979.50 (Project B2916). - Resurfacing contract 2025-2 (Local Roads Northeast) with Baldwin Paving Co., not to exceed $6,745,334.10 (Project B2917). - Resurfacing contract 2025-3 (Loco Road South) with Bridal R Paving & Construction LLC, not to exceed $5,219,100.50 (Project B2918). - Countywide Major Thoroughfares Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant with C.W. Matthews Contracting Co., not to exceed $9,498,394.42 (Project B2919). - Cobb Parkway Pedestrian Bridge contract with Southern Road & Bridge LLC, not to exceed $1,960,943 (Project B2443), and a related memorandum of agreement with the Cumberland Community Improvement District for enhancements and maintenance. - Purchase of incident-management CCTV cameras not to exceed $265,599 (Project B2521). - Drainage system repairs on Oak Drive with Chatfield Contracting Inc., not to exceed $231,781.90 (Project B22159).
Each item was presented by Drew Ressler, DOT director; motions were made, seconded and carried by recorded roll calls reported in the transcript as 5-0. Several items also included authorization for the chairwoman to execute necessary documents and for budget transactions to be processed.
The approvals fund resurfacing and pedestrian-safety work, utility relocations for an Oakdale Road Complete Streets project, and smaller maintenance and CCTV purchases intended to support incident management across county roads.
