The Chelsea Planning Board voted unanimously to grant a one-year extension of the board's 2022 major-site approval for the project at 295 Eastern Avenue.
A representative who identified himself as Ed said the owner group, 295 Eastern Chelsea LLC, requests one additional year to finalize construction drawings, building-permit applications and project financing. "We already have a demo permit from the building department and the structures that were on the site have been demolished, and we are in the site work process right now," Ed said, adding that the Zoning Board of Appeals approved an extension at its Oct. 8 meeting.
The planning board moved to grant the extension; the motion passed by voice vote. The extension preserves the applicant's approved major-site plan while they complete permitting and financing.
Next steps: applicant continues site-work and will return with building-permit applications as required.
