The Chelsea City Council voted unanimously on Nov. 18 to adopt two property-tax measures for fiscal year 2025 and to confirm appointments to local boards.
In roll-call votes, councilors approved an order adopting the minimum residential tax factor and a separate order establishing a 35% residential exemption for FY2025. The clerk recorded the vote as 11 in favor, 0 opposed for each measure. The measures were presented to the council as second readings following the city manager's communications.
During the meeting the council also confirmed appointments recommended by the city manager. The council adopted on the roll-call vote the reappointment of Samantha Pellegrano to the Board of Health, the appointment of Dario Medina to the Chelsea Youth Commission, and the designation of Burnaby Rodriguez as Chelsea’s representative to the Massport Community Advisory Committee. The clerk recorded the roll-call vote approving the appointments as 11 yes, 0 opposed.
The council wrapped the business portion of the meeting by moving several newly introduced orders to committee for further review and addressing a range of community and infrastructure items without further roll-call actions.
The council adjourned after public announcements and moments of silence.
