The Chelsea Licensing Commission granted a new class 1/2/3 license to Top Speed Vehicles Inc. for a used-car operation at 69 Everett Avenue at its Dec. 12 meeting, while instructing the applicant to correct an address discrepancy and to consider security upgrades.
Christian Sirian, representing Top Speed Motors, said the business would sell used cars from a small lot that fits about six vehicles and that the owner has prior dealer experience. Commissioners and staff identified an inconsistency in the application listing (69 A vs. 69 B Everett Ave.) and asked Sirian to correct the address on the record. Officer Santiago warned the applicant that used-car dealerships in the region had experienced repeated targeted thefts and recommended robust camera systems and barriers as appropriate crime-prevention measures.
Sirian provided proof of passed inspections and receipts for abutter notifications to the clerk as requested. After staff confirmed the required inspections were satisfied and the applicant agreed to correct the address on the application, the commission moved and approved the license by voice vote.
