Chelsea Licensing Commission approves routine minutes, renewals and extends New Year—s Eve hours

The Chelsea Licensing Commission approved routine administrative items and a set of calendar and licensing renewals at its meeting on Dec. 12, 2024.
Chair opened the meeting and the commission first voted to adopt the minutes of the Nov. 14, 2024 meeting. Naomi Lebron, the licensing clerk, then asked the commission to approve extending restaurant and bar hours to 2 a.m. on New Year—s Eve, the practice the city has followed in prior years; Officer Santiago told the commission the police department had no objection. Commissioners moved, seconded and approved the extension.
Lebron presented the proposed meeting dates for the first six months of 2025 — Jan. 9, Feb. 13, March 20, April 10, May 8 and June 12 — and the panel approved the calendar without amendment. The commission also voted to approve a group of completed 2025 renewals, including liquor licenses, class 1/2/3 (used-car) licenses, amusement and entertainment licenses, rooming-house licenses and common victualler licenses, after the clerk confirmed the paperwork was complete.
The meeting proceeded to other matters after commissioners recorded the approvals.
