Board certifies Measure CC bond proceedings, establishes oversight committee and approves related procurement and staffing steps

The Los Gatos Union School District Board of Trustees on Tuesday completed multiple implementation steps tied to Measure CC, the general obligation bond approved in November 2024.

The board voted to approve Resolution No. 06-24-25 certifying the bond election proceedings and later adopted Resolution No. 07-24-25 to form a citizen's bond oversight committee; trustees noted a 60-day window for forming the committee and accepting applications.

District business staff also received approval to issue a request for proposals (RFP) for architectural services to design projects identified in the facilities master plan. Teresa Fiscus, chief business official, said the RFP will allow firms to bid on all or parts of the work to encourage competitive proposals.

The board approved a new Measure CC bond construction manager job description, intended to be posted and filled with bond funds. Assistant Superintendent Sarah (last name given in meeting materials) explained that bond funds may pay for positions that directly manage facilities projects but not for cabinet-level administrators. Board discussion included whether the role's salary range would be published on the posting; staff noted a salary range of about $184,000 on the new schedule.

All Measure CC items were approved by the board, with roll-call confirmation for the bond-certifying resolution and unanimous approval for the other items.

Next steps include posting the construction manager position, issuing the architectural RFP, forming the citizen oversight committee and proceeding with programming and design work for Measure CC-funded projects.
