Baker County commissioners approved a supplemental funding agreement with the Florida Department of Transportation to cover a $213,433.56 shortfall and move forward with the County Road 125 (Blair Park) project.
Public works staff reported that multiple bids for the project came in higher than expected despite repeated rebids. "I have begged and borrowed and everything I can with DOT, and they finally granted us the additional $213,433.56," the presenting staff member said, describing the grant of supplemental funds that will allow the job to proceed.
The board read Resolution 2024-38, which authorizes the chairman to execute the supplemental funding agreement (FDOT Financial project number 439675-1-54-01). The resolution was approved by the commissioners by voice vote and staff indicated the project was slated to begin soon after contractor scheduling was confirmed.
The resolution and supplemental agreement were approved by the board by voice vote; staff will proceed with contract execution and notify stakeholders of the project schedule.
