Renata Williams, director of the Care Unit in the St. Joe County Department of Health, asked the board on Sept. 24 to approve a contract with Effectv, a marketing arm of Comcast, to promote new maternal education classes in the 46628 ZIP code. Williams said the department previously asked the board to endorse the Beacon-hosted classes and that departmental legal counsel had reviewed the advertising agreement.
When asked how the contract would be paid for, Williams said the work will be funded with HFI funding. The board moved, seconded and approved the contract by recorded vote: Commissioners Dieter, Hazen and Baxmyer voted "Aye."
